The Kansas City Royals are underway with the second half of the 2017 season and they’ll need to get red hot and stay red hot if they want to make it into the postseason. What else can be done for this team to play deep into October?

With a record of 44-43 at the All-Star break, the Kansas City Royals will have their work cut out for them in the second half of the season. They currently sit three games back of the Indians for the division lead and are only a game and a half out of the second Wild Card spot.

In other words, the Royals are close to being a playoff contender for their third season in four years, but have some work to do. They need to really pick up the pace in the second half of the year if they want to be a postseason team.

This post is covering the bases (heh) as far as what the KC Royals need to do in order to get past the regular season. I’m sure some smart aleck is saying, “Win games!” and if so… First of all, you’re quite the comedian, and second, I’m aware that winning games will get the Royals a better record. This post will go deeper than that type of logic.

Let’s start it off with a somewhat obvious note.
