Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp Preview

Mitchell Schwartz – Right Tackle

There was a lot of excitement when the Kansas City Chiefs signed Mitchell Schwartz last year. The former Browns tackle, and brother of former Chiefs guard Geoff Schwartz, was considered the absolute best right tackle in the NFL. He didn’t retain that title this past season, but he still played very well for Kansas City.

There were some struggles at times for Mitchell Schwartz last year, but a lot of that is most likely due to a new team and system. As the season went on, it was definitely easy to see that Schwartz looked more comfortable on the field. Hopefully that continues this year and the Chiefs see that player who dominated in Cleveland.

You’re not going to find a lot of holes in the game of Mitchell Schwartz. He has faced the best in the league in Von Miller, Khalil Mack, and JJ Watt…and he’s held his own against all of them. In today’s NFL, it’s important to have quality tackles on both sides of the offensive line.

Prediction

There is absolutely no way that anyone is beating out Mitchell Schwartz for a starting job. The Kansas City Chiefs are largely set with the starters on the offensive line, and that is especially tru of Schwartz. There shouldn’t even be any kind of competition for the job. Just let him go get his work in.
