Kansas State all-time leaders in rushing yards: 1: Darren Sproles (4,979)

Taaaaadaaaa! The all-time leader in rushing yards in Kansas State history is Darren Sproles! Sproles is a well-known name for any NFL fan and it should come as no surprise that he was just as much of a beast during his college years.

Sproles broke onto the scene in a huge way during the 2002 season, in which he had 237 carries for 1,465 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore. That was just the beginning for Sproles though, as he hadn’t even had his best season yet.

Darren Sproles is ahead of the rest of the pack BY FAR when it comes to the amount of rushing yards accumulated.

In 2003, Sproles’ junior year, the future NFL bad ass had 306 carries for an eye popping 1,986 yards and 16 touchdowns. He ended up placing fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting and really played a huge part in Kansas State’s 11-4 campaign that year.

While Sproles’ senior season wasn’t nearly as good, the guy still carried the ball 244 times for 1,318 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Any college player would take those stats any day of the week.

Darren Sproles heard his name called in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers where he played for five years. He also spent time with New Orleans and is currently a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, where he continues to ball out.

Darren Sproles is ahead of the rest of the pack BY FAR when it comes to the amount of rushing yards accumulated. His 4,979 rushing yards likely won’t be passed for a very long time.
