Kansas State Football: All-Time Leaders in Rushing Yards
Kansas State all-time leaders in rushing yards: 3: Daniel Thomas (2,850)
Daniel Thomas is easily one of the best running backs in KSU history, putting up 2,850 yards in just two seasons as a Cat. Thomas took over at the running back spot during his junior season in 2009 and had 247 carries for 1,265 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Could you imagine Daniel Thomas with a quarterback like Collin Klein or Michael Bishop?
Thomas also played a role in the receiving game that year, catching 25 passes for 257 yards.
In 2010, Daniel Thomas definitely upped the ante as a senior, rushing for 1,585 yards off an astounding 298 carries and scored 19 touchdowns. He was amazing and became the best part of the Kansas State offense in both of those seasons.
Bill Snyder had just “re-taken over” the program after Ron Prince had driven it back into the ground, so the team wasn’t quite good yet during Thomas’ tenure. That’s too bad too. Could you imagine Daniel Thomas with a quarterback like Collin Klein or Michael Bishop? That rushing attack would have been unstoppable.
Thomas was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, but was out of the league after four seasons.
