Kansas State Football: All-Time Leaders in Rushing Yards
Kansas State all-time leaders in rushing yards: 5: Eric Hickson (2,537)
Eric Hickson spent five seasons with Kansas State, but only played in four. He really broke onto the scene in 1995 when he rushed for 816 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore. The Cats went 10-2 that year and won the Holiday Bowl.
Hickson’s final two seasons were equally as impressive, as the running back put up 750 yards with nine touchdowns in 1997 and 902 yards with nine touchdowns in 1998. He, like several other players on this list, never had a 1,000 yard season, but he still managed to record over 2,500 for his career total.
Kansas State was a legitimate team every year that Eric Hickson played there and that wasn’t a coincidence. The young running back had the ability to break off for a big run at any time and was exciting to watch for sure.
Also like several other players listed, Eric Hickson never made it to the NFL, but he’s still in the top five in all-time rushing yards, which shows how important he was to Kansas State football during his time on the gridiron.
