Kansas City Chiefs GM Search
Ryan Cowden – Titans Director of Player Personnel
When a guy becomes popular in front office circles, he can move up in a hurry. That is something the Kansas City Chiefs may be keeping an eye out for in their GM search. That would certainly explain why the team is bringing in Ryan Cowden, the Titans Director of Player Personnel.
Just a couple years ago, Ryan Cowden was still just a scout in the Carolina Panther organization. However, he got noticed by the right people and received a huge promotion to work for the Tennessee Titans. Since then, his reputation around the NFL has only gotten even better.
Two outside names on the radar for #Chiefs GM job, per sources: Scott Fitterer (#Seahawks) and Ryan Cowden (#Titans).

However, the downside here is that much like Scott Fitterer, Cowden doesn’t have much experience outside of college scouting. The GM job entails a whole lot more than just picking the right players. That’s important, of course, but only one area that needs to be managed.
Has Ryan Cowden learned enough in his short time in Tennessee to warrant a top job? That is very tough to say. He will need to prove that he can handle the salary cap and negotiations if Clark Hunt is going to hire him.
