ROYALS WHO DESERVE TO BE ALL-STARS – NUMBER 3: ERIC HOSMER

Eric Hosmer jumped into first place among first baseman in the most recent All-Star Game voting. He’s ahead of Yonder Alonso of the A’s by around 49,000 votes.

Hosmer has had a great 2017 season, currently slashing .300/.357/.466 with nine home runs and 31 RBI in 277 at bats. His slow start wasn’t pretty, but once Hosmer got going, he didn’t slow down.

With so many other talented first basemen in the American League, it’s impressive that fans voted enough to get Hosmer in first place. Miguel Cabrera is also up there in the votes, but it’s tough to argue against Hosmer being the starting first baseman for the American League squad.

Hosmer appeared in his first ever All-Star Game last year and won the MVP for the game for hitting a home run and knocking in a key run to give the AL the win.

Let’s keep voting so that Eric Hosmer stays in first place Royals fans!
