Kansas City Chiefs Top GM Candidates #2
Brett Veach: Kansas City Chiefs
If the Kansas City Chiefs want to keep things in house, then the top name on the board in many minds is Brett Veach. Veach currently shares the Director of Player Personnel role with Mike Borgonzi. However, Veach has a significant advantage in that he’s worked with Andy Reid for a long time.
Earlier this offseason, Brett Veach was a popular name in the Buffalo Bills GM search. He had a very vocal supporter in Bills running back LeSean McCoy. It’s rare that players chime in on front office decisions like that, so it is certainly worth noting. Being popular among the players who know you is definitely not a bad thing.
Brett Veach would probably present the Chiefs with the most seamless transition from John Dorsey. The working relationship with Andy Reid, as well as his knowledge and understanding of the team definitely play well into his favor. On top of that, Veach has a very solid reputation around the NFL. This is probably the most likely move.
