SALVADOR PEREZ

Salvador Perez is the most obvious name that the KC Royals would want to make sure to retain because he’s the best catcher in the entire league. With four All-Star appearances, four Gold Gloves, and World Series MVP to his name, Perez has quite the resumé and it’s no surprise when watching him play.

Perez is only 26 years old and has already emerged as the best catcher in the major leagues. Salvy is batting .286 this season with 14 home runs and is easily the most likable player on the team. The guy has become beloved in Kansas City both for his offensive and defensive skillsets and for his famous “Salvy splash” routine that he does after a game.

Any new MLB team looking to build its way up would be chomping at the bit to add Salvador Perez to their squad. He’s young, talented, and exudes confidence, which is what teams want in their guys. Fortunately for the Royals, they can keep Salvador Perez from another team and he’d be the first guy written down to save.
