The Kansas City Chiefs head into the next phase of the offseason today with the start of mandatory minicamp. Here are five things to watch for.

With Organized Team Activities (OTAs) wrapping up last week, the Kansas City Chiefs are now headed into the next stage of their offseason. This week marks mandatory minicamp for the Chiefs and their players. This is when we are supposed to see the full team working together for the first time.

So far the 2017 offseason has been a little bit of a whirlwind for the Chiefs. Ever since KC traded up to draft Patrick Mahomes in this year’s draft, things have been different. The team has made some very surprising offseason moves that have changed the team quite a bit.

Some of those moves have led to new names popping up on the practice reports. Young players are taking advantage of their opportunities. There are others who are looking to rebound from a down year. Chiefs fans may have to get used to hearing some new names as contributors.

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs. Depending on who you listen to, the results are pretty much all over the map. Coming off of a 12-4 season (and an 11-5 year in 2015), the Chiefs should have very high expectations. Of course, they are not a team that thrives on stats, which has some people very low on them.

Whatever the Chiefs are going to be in 2017 though, we will start to see it take shape now. Andy Reid and John Dorsey have turned this into one of the better teams in the NFL.
