MIKE MOUSTAKAS

Mike Moustakas looks like he’s playing for a big contract this year. He’s belted 13 home runs in 44 games and is looking as powerful as ever at the plate. Any time Moose steps up to bat, fans have confidence that he can knock the ball out of the park, and that’s a rare feeling for Royals fans.

Moustakas is currently slashing .254/.290/.514, but his 13 home runs are what stand out to the fans. The Royals are becoming more of a power team, and Moose is leading the team in home runs at the moment.

If Moustakas can continue his power-hitting ways, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Royals would consider trading him for some prospects or that he’ll be receiving a big contract during the offseason. No one would be angry at either option, as Moose has shown that he’s deserving of a long-term deal.

With Cheslor Cuthbert and Hunter Dozier still on the team, Moustakas could be expendable to the Kansas City Royals. No one wants to see him go, but with the way he’s knocking balls out of the park, he could become one of the most popular trade targets in the coming weeks.
