JASON HAMMEL

Jason Hammel has been an interesting player to watch this season. In some outings, he’s been terrific. In fact, his last outing, which was in New York against the Yankees this past Wednesday, Hammel did a fine job.

He held the Yankees to three runs throughout six innings, but his offense couldn’t get him any run support whatsoever. Hammel struck out seven batters and lowered his ERA to 5.98. It wasn’t a perfect outing, but considering some of his other performances, this one was perfectly okay with Royals fans.

For the most part, Jason Hammel has struggled tremendously this season. He has only one win while posting six losses and opponents are batting .313 off of him. Not exactly what the KC Royals were hoping for when they signed the former Cub to their roster this offseason.

Hammel will take the mound on Memorial Day and hopefully can keep his team in the game. He can’t go the whole season with only one win under his belt, right?
