Potential Landing Spots for Alex Smith

San Francisco 49ers

It would be awfully fateful if Alex Smith ended his career with the team he started it with. The team that mistakenly thought that Colin Kaepernick was a better choice instead of Smith after injury has to haunt them today.

When Alex Smith hits the market, I doubt the 49ers let him slip away once again.

I believe San Francisco is eager to shed their past sorrows, and make up for it by reacquiring the veteran NFL quarterback they traded away.

Like the New York Jets that were mentioned in the previous slide, there is a quarterback controversy in San Francisco. The amount of quarterbacks on San Francisco’s roster require two hands to count. It is especially awful that only one of them has truly had a decent NFL starting quarterback career.

The most recent pickup the 49ers have off the NFL Draft line is Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard, who in the easiest sense of the word is… ordinary. With all that said, 49ers fans have to be hitting the panic button.

Rest assured, though. When Alex Smith hits the market, I doubt the 49ers let him slip away once again, unless they find a miraculous answer from Chirstian Ponder and others.
