Potential Landing Spots for Alex Smith

New York Jets

One of the biggest problems the New York Jets have had is at quarterback. They seem to be reluctant to draft a quarterback in the first round, which sounds awfully familiar, and they continue to pick up quarterbacks from other teams.

Not only does he bring consistency to a position the Jets have been lacking in, but he also will most likely come with a reduced price tag.

Wait, that sounds like Kansas City! It is true that the Jets have almost exactly the same situation as the Chiefs did when they picked up Alex Smith.

In fact, they may just be waiting for the Chiefs to dump Smith off on their roster. Right now the Jets have seen some promising offensive pieces, but they work alongside a quarterback that cannot get the job done. All that could change in Alex Smith. Smith has a skillset that makes him a consistent quarterback player that avoids costly turnovers.

As of now, the Jets have been missing that all essential element of consistency at the helm. The only thing really consistent about the Jets quarterback position is the controversy. With three potential starting quarterbacks on the roster, the Jets definitively have a quarterback carousel. Josh McCown, Chirstian Hackenberg, and Bryce Petty are all fighting for spots, but neither instill fear into the opposing team at all.

Smith would solve this controversy upon arrival. Not only does he bring consistency to a position the Jets have been lacking in, but he also will most likely come with a reduced price tag.

One thing is for sure the Jets need help at quarterback. Smith may be their hidden solution for when Mahomes finally starts, and then Smith could bring back another struggling franchise.
