IAN KENNEDY

Ian Kennedy returned from the disabled list last weekend and did not fare too well in his return to the mound. Kennedy, who started on Sunday against the Twins, only lasted two innings while surrendering five runs off of three hits.

Kennedy’s ERA now sits at 4.05 and he’s yet to notch a win this season, posting an 0-4 record. Now it’s worth noting that Kennedy had several great starts, but a lack of offense prevented him from getting the victory.

The Royals will send Ian Kennedy to the mound on Friday in an important first game of the series. Kennedy’s reputation has always been that he’s an innings eater and the Royals need that type of performance right now. If he struggles again, then perhaps his injury is worse than fans were told.

The Indians have had the Royals’ number since last season, so Kennedy needs to go out and rebound big time on Friday.
