Kansas City Royals: Five players to watch in third series vs Twins
JORGE SOLER
When Jorge Soler joined the Royals two weekends ago, fans weren’t expecting the kid to pick things up right away. After all, the Royals acquired Soler from the Cubs this past offseason because of the longevity of his contract.
Despite Soler nearly costing the Royals a coveted game against the Orioles due to unnecessary diving for the ball, he’s slowly but surely growing into a unique player for the club. He crushed a laser of a home run against the O’s and is hitting the ball.
Before the conclusion of Thursday’s finale against New York, Soler was slashing .171/.310/.314 in 12 games and 35 at bats. That home run he hit against Baltimore will be shown for weeks due to how hard Soler crushed that ball. That thing got demolished.
Soler started off slow when it came to hitting the ball, but he’s showing signs of life at the plate. If he can hit even around .220 this season, that’d be a decent start for him and the Royals.
