JASON VARGAS

Jason Vargas will toe the slab on Wednesday’s game (his opponent has yet to be announced) and is looking to continue his hot streak on the mound. Vargas has been a freak this season, posting an ERA of 1.01 and a 5-1 record in 44.2 innings thrown. He’s been fantastic!

It wouldn’t be farfetched for [Vargas] to be a legit Cy Young candidate at the end of the season.

Vargas is leading in the majors in ERA, which is insane. Before the season started, no one would have guessed that Jason Vargas would be the best player for the Royals in mid May, but here we are, and he is the best player on the team right now.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but there’s no way in hell that Vargas will keep his shiny 1.01 ERA for the entire season. He’s going to have a few bad starts here and there, but if he can keep those to a minimum, it wouldn’t be farfetched for him to be a legit Cy Young candidate at the end of the season.

We’ll have to keep an eye on ol’ Vargy, but if he does indeed continue to pitch out of his mind like he has been, then holy bleep, the Royals will be making bank on prospects if it does indeed get to that point in the season.
