As all the talk around the Kansas City Royals has been centered around trading away talent, the team has suddenly caught a bit of a hot streak.

It was a miserable start to the 2017 season for the Kansas City Royals. The team has been the laughing stock of Major League Baseball for much of the young season. It was enough to where fans, analysts, and media pundits were talking about the trades they should make. However, the Royals have suddenly gotten hot, especially at the plate.

The Royals have won five of their last six games, and secured back to back series wins Saturday night for the first time all year. In those six games, Kansas City has scored fewer than three runs only one time. It is a stark contrast for a team held under three runs six times during a nine game losing stretch.

Where is the offense coming from? Well, the biggest difference is Eric Hosmer who has suddenly discovered his bat. Hosmer started off the season in dreadful fashion, but has brought his batting average up to .299, and shows no sign of stopping.

Apart from Hosmer, the Royals are getting good offensive production from Mike Moustakas, Salvador Perez, Lorenzo Cain, and even Brandon Moss! Over the past couple of games, Moss has hit key home runs that would lead to “W”s for Kansas City.

It won’t be easy for Kansas City to stay hot. They have one more game against the tough Orioles today. Then their next ten games will come against the division leading Minnesota Twins and AL East leading New York Yankees. If the Royals can find a way to keep winning through those three tough series, you will hear a whole lot less of the trade chatter.
