Martin Truex Jr may have taken the checkered flag, but all anyone will be talking about from the NASCAR Go Bowling 400 is the big wreck in lap 200.

The Go Bowling 400 ended in a way that many NASCAR fans like to see. It was a shootout down the final stretch with just a few laps to go. Martin Truex Jr grabbed the victory at Kansas Speedway. However, the story from this race will be a devastating wreck in the 200th lap that resulted in one driver being airlifted out.

A late caution set the table for a shootout in the final five laps of the race. Then Jimmie Johnson would suffer a very uncharacteristic spinout, bringing out the caution again. From there, Martin Truex Jr was able to hold everyone off and grab himself a victory. That win, his second of the year, bumps Truex into the top spot in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.

It’s one he probably won’t celebrate too much until hearing how

Scary Moment For Aric Almirola

It was definitely a wild sight to watch. A high impact wreck started (not surprisingly) by Joey Logano who has been doing a lot that recently. The crash also involved Danica Patrick and Aric Almirola. It was clearly Almirola who got the worst of it.

After a long delay in which emergency crews rushed out, Almirola was finally pulled from his car and airlifted off of the track. NASCAR officials have not yet released anything regarding his condition. There was no doubt that this was a bad wreck, and it will certainly make the rounds on the morning talk shows.

Ryan Blaney Almost Does It

Coming into this weekend, young gun Ryan Blaney had never taken a poll or won a race in his NASCAR career. Well, Friday night he got his first every poll. Unfortunately, Blaney was unable to hold onto a late lead to secure his first win.

There has been a lot of recent talk about the new faces of NASCAR, and Ryan Blaney is certainly one of the guys to watch. He had a great showing this weekend, and racing fans have a lot to look forward to with his future.

NASCAR will be back in Kansas City this fall for the Hollywood Casino 400. Racing has started to become pretty popular in KC, and the Kansas Speedway plays an important role in the season. It was an exciting race tonight. However, let’s not forget to send our prayers and warmest wishes to Aric Almirola.
