The KC Royals are still painful to watch this season, but they did manage to win at least two games in their latest series against the White Sox. Now, the Royals will welcome the Cleveland Indians to Kauffman for the first time in 2017.

The Royals are still the Royals of old after their latest series with the White Sox. Sure, the boys in blue managed to not lose the series, but they still tied the series at two games a piece.

Two games saw the Kansas City Royals putting up six runs and holding the Sox to one while the other two games saw Kansas City getting thumped. Ian Kennedy even left the final game of the series after only 4.1 innings pitched due to a hamstring strain.

Even before being pulled, Kennedy wasn’t having a stellar outing and the Royals wound up getting clobbered on “School Day at the K” once again. Maybe that’s a sign that it shouldn’t be a thing anymore.

Now the Cleveland Indians will roll into town for the first time. It’s the first series between the Royals and Indians in 2017 and this a team that had Kansas City’s number last year, as the Royals only won five games against Cleveland last year.

Cleveland is the defending American League champion from a season ago and we all know they’re just itching to get back to the World Series again in 2017 and have “the right ending” this time. They’re very similar to the 2014/2015 Kansas City Royals and that’s why I have little confidence about the Royals being able to win games against them this year.

Anyway, with that said, let’s check out the players to watch in the first series against the Indians of Cleveland.
