A bit surprising considering that the Chiefs had other needs to address.. DE. Villanova. TANOH KPASSAGNON. C

I’m giving the selection of Tanoh Kpassagnon an average grade of C. This pick kind of puzzled me, mainly because the Chiefs could have really used a cornerback or inside linebacker at this selection.

At the same time though, Kansas City did part ways with Jaye Howard and Dontari Poe recently, but guys like Chris Jones and Rakeem Nunez-Roches really stepped up last season. That’s why I feel like defensive line could have been addressed much later in the draft.

While Kpassagnon has promise, he won’t be an immediate starter. There were plenty of other great players on the board at the time this pick was made, and I think the Chiefs definitely reached here. They could have easily gotten Kpassagnon on Day 3, but what do I know? Clearly nothing.

There’s a lot of upside with Kpassagnon for sure, but the Chiefs will have to wait a few years to see if that upside pans out.
