B-. . . CBS Sports. PETE PRISCO

First up on the list is Pete Prisco, who gave the KC Chiefs a B- for their efforts in the 2017 NFL Draft. He liked trading up for Patrick Mahomes and grabbing Kareem Hunt in the third round, but said it’ll be hard to judge this draft until we see how effective Mahomes is in the pros.

Here’s everything Prisco had to say,

"I think Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be the best quarterback in this class, so from a talent standpoint making the move up in the first round to get him makes sense. Second-round defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon from Villanova is a raw player, but they need down help. I really like third-round running back Kareem Hunt from Toledo. Fourth-round receiver Jehu Chesson will help the passing game. This is a draft that will be all about Mahomes, but we won’t know that answer until years in the future."

A lot of Chiefs fans seem to think that Prisco isn’t fond of the Chiefs most of the time, but he was optimistic about this draft. I agree with him on the Tanoh Kpassagnon pick, as I think there were other directions that the Chiefs could have gone in with that second rounder. Why go defensive end there?

I think everyone agrees that we won’t truly know how great this draft is until we see Mahomes as the full time starter. Fingers crossed that it pans out!
