2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Carolina Panthers – Jesse Holt

Running Back. Stanford. Christian McCaffrey. 8. player. 87. The Heisman Trophy runner-up should be an immediate difference maker for the Panthers. Carolina’s running game will improve quickly with the addition of McCaffrey. In addition, his speed, pass-catching ability, and sharp route-running should allow McCaffrey to contribute both downfield and in the backfield.

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

The kid is a freak on the gridiron and whatever team lands him will be getting an instant playmaker on offense and on special teams.

Insider Talk – NFL.com:

“I’ll bet his draft grades are going to be all over the place because some teams will see him as a complementary back and others will see him as a multi-touch guy. Teams who run a lot of three and four wide looks will like him because he can run those inside zone plays out of the gun and they can also motion him out of the backfield and just try and mismatch him.” – AFC Pro Personnel Director

Staff Reaction:

The Panthers were strong candidates to land Leonard Fournette, but with him off the board, they go with Christian McCaffrey. It’s a bit surprising that Carolina passed on Dalvin Cook, but McCaffrey had stats in college that would impress anyone. He should be able to make an impact in this Panthers offense. – Leigh Oleszczak
