2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
New York Jets – Trevor Beurman
Deshaun Watson’s College Career Stats consisted of 814 completions on 1,207 pass attempts for 10,168 yards giving him a 67.4 completion percentage. He had 90 touchdowns versus only 32 interceptions for a 157.5 Quarterback Rating, per Sports Reference College Football.
Staff Reaction:
It looks like the Browns were right to move up for their QB. The Jets have been a disaster at the most important position on the field, and this is a decisive move. With New York signing Josh McCown, there is a buffer for Watson. They definitely needed some kind of an answer here, we’ll see if Watson is it. ~ Ben Almquist
My first reaction to this choice is that the Browns drafting Mitch Trubisky forced the Jets hand. However, the pick does make a lot of sense. Newly signed Josh McCown is the presumptive starter right now but he’s not a guy to build your team around. Deshaun Watson has all of the potential in the world. He’s shown the ability to thrive under pressure in the college atmosphere. ~ Jesse Holt
