2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Green Bay Packers – Trevor Beurman

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

Barnett spent three years with the Volunteers, totaling 198 tackles (52 for loss), 32 sacks, and defended six passes. He certainly put up great stats with Tennessee and should be nearly a lock to go in the first round.

Staff Reaction:

This is tremendous value for the Packers as Derek Barnett is considered one of the best players in the draft. Barnett should be a day one starter for Green Bay, and is the kind of player they can build around. ~ Ben Almquist

I love the pick of Barnett here for the Packers if he is still available. Clay Matthews will turn 31 this season. While he still has plenty of gas in the tank, I think it’s prudent for the Cheeseheads to draft and develop Barnett here. If FSU’s Dalvin Cook is still on the board at 29, Green Bay may not want to pass him up. ~ Jesse Holt
