2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Staff First Round Mock Draft
2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
Houston Texans – Thomas Hawkins
What stands out right away with Garett Bolles is his athleticism. Moves quickly to get to the outside, and can cut off the inside move. Solid footwork to keep his feet under him and constantly moving. Bolles shows a mean streak and looks to finish all of his blocks.
“Most athletic offensive lineman I’ve done since I took over this area of the country. He’s also mean on the field, which you love. I’m projecting him to get stronger once he locks into an NFL strength-and-conditioning program. He’s underdeveloped right now. What you see isn’t what you are going to ultimately get, in my opinion.” — West area scout for NFC team
Staff Reaction:
Houston won’t just sit back and watch the four big quarterbacks get drafted ahead of them. They’ll surely be going after one of them, but in this case, they just missed out and now decide to shore up their offensive line instead. Houston’s really only missing a quarterback to their already stout roster, so I just don’t see a scenario in which they don’t trade up if the quarterbacks are going off the board quickly. – Leigh Oleszczak
