2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
Washington Redskins – Trevor Beurman
Peppers was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, placing fifth. The fact that he was able to be there as a defensive player says wonders about just how talented Peppers is on the gridiron.
“These comparisons to Charles Woodson are nuts. Both are really good return men, but Woody is one of the greatest playmakers of all-time. Peppers has one interception and I don’t think he’s ever forced a fumble. Michigan might move him around too much. He will really improve when he can lock in and learn a position.” — AFC Director of Scouting
Staff Reaction:
Nice pick for Washington here, as they land a versatile prospect in Jabrill Peppers. Peppers will give them strong insurance in the secondary for years to come. – Leigh Oleszczak
I’m not sure about this one. The Redskins have an awful lot of issues to be using a pick on a guy who doesn’t fit any specific position. Peppers will be a great luxury pick for a good team, or an awful fit on a team with needs. Washington is the latter. ~ Ben Almquist
