2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

New Orleans Saints – Leigh Oleszczak

15. New Orleans adds Marshon Lattimore with their first pick in the draft. The Saints are going to really be stocking up on defensive prospects and shoring up their secondary is a great plan. Plus they seem to really love drafting players from Ohio State.. Cornerback. Ohio State. Marshon Lattimore. 11. player

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

Lattimore had four interceptions during his senior season in 2016 and was named First-Team All-Pro. He’s certainly shown he has the juice to be a legitimate cornerback in the NFL, but the past injury history is definitely concerning to say the least.

Insider Talk – NFL.com:

“I’ve studied the top cornerbacks coming out and he’s the best I’ve seen. He’s so athletic that he can just post up under the receiver’s chin and shadow him all over the field. And he’s tough, too. He’ll be one of the top cornerbacks pretty quickly.” — Pro personnel director for AFC team

Staff Reaction:

The KC Kingdom mock draft was very kind to New Orleans. The Saints were incredibly lucky to have a top CB like Lattimore fall to them. Defense is absolutely the biggest need for the Saints right now. If a great CB isn’t available, expect them to pursue help at linebacker or safety instead. ~ Jesse Holt
