2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Cincinnati Bengals – Thomas Hawkins

player. 56. Bengals end the streak of going for the sexy pick by taking Reuben Foster, instead of going with offensive line help. Foster teamed up with Burfict could be the missing piece Cinny needs on the defensive side of the ball.. Linebacker. Alabama. Reuben Foster. 9

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

As a senior, Foster really took his game to the next level, to improve on his quickness and velocity, he lost over 15 pounds last offseason, according to NFL.com. Along with losing weight, he really matured into an elite linebacker with 115 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and five sacks his senior year.

Insider Talk – NFL.com:

“He’s not a MIKE linebacker. I think he’s a pure run-and-hit WILL linebacker with good cover talent. I’m worried about what his medicals will show because he’s had some issues with stingers during his career. I have a higher grade on him than I had on Reggie Ragland. Better pro potential to me.” — NFC director of scouting

Staff Reaction:

While the Bengals really could have used help along the offensive line, this year’s draft class isn’t very good, so this really was the best choice for them. Reuben Foster has the potential to be a ten-year vet and Cincy made a wise decision in drafting him here. – Leigh Oleszczak
