Kansas City Chiefs Mock Draft Roundup

Walter Cheripinsky – Walter Football

Check out his latest mock draft here.

player. 124. It’s been a while since the Chiefs have spent a first-round pick on an offensive lineman. Andy Reid is a big fan of building a team through the trenches, so I don’t think he’d be able to pass on the top guard in this class if Forrest Lamp dropped into his lap at No. 27 overall. Reid would love to obtain someone like Lamp, who would provide an upgrade over the mediocre Zach Fulton.. Offensive Guard. Western Kentucky. Forrest Lamp. 27

Walter makes an interesting move here for the Kansas City Chiefs as they grab an offensive lineman. In my opinion, Forrest Lamp is the absolute best lineman in the 2017 NFL Draft. From a pure player perspective, this would be a great pick. Lamp would be a fixture at left guard for years to come.

The problem with that? The Chiefs drafted Parker Ehinger to play that position last year. Ehinger went down to injury, which is why Zach Fulton was out there. I think Walter may have failed to do all of his research on this one. That takes this from being a great pick to being a bad one. You have to know what is already on the roster.
