Kansas City Chiefs: Free Agents To Avoid #7
Brandon Flowers – CB
Fans love a reunion story, and for Kansas City Chiefs fans, Brandon Flowers was always a popular player. Flowers was a star for the Chiefs defense at a time when there wasn’t much to cheer about. The diminutive corner was an outstanding technician who took on much larger receivers. However, KC has already made it known that Flowers isn’t a fit in their defensive scheme.
I expect the Chiefs to be looking for secondary help in the upcoming draft. However, there is limited value in what Brandon Flowers would bring to KC. Some will argue that Flowers could play an inside slot position. That may be true, but Steven Nelson has already taken this role, and DJ White is available to back him up.

There is also a question of age and health with Brandon Flowers as he hasn’t pulled a full 16 games since 2011 with the Chiefs. In fact, that was his only fully health season in his career. This simply is not an investment that John Dorsey should be looking to make.
