Sporting KC: Game Grades In 3-1 Win Over Colorado
By Ben Almquist
Sporting KC finally came alive on offense and put three in the back of the net to beat the Colorado Rapids. We hand out game grades for the victory.
You wouldn’t have been wrong to worry about Sporting KC‘s lack of goal scoring early this season. Over their first four matches, SKC had only found the back of the net twice. Those two goals came in the same game. Despite that, Sporting was still undefeated coming into last night’s game with the Colorado Rapids. Finally, Sporting’s offense decided to show up.
SKC put on an impressive display of offense against a division opponent. The 3-1 victory helped move Sporting up in the standings and currently leaves them as just one of three undefeated teams in MLS. It is a pretty stark contrast to how the team was looking just two weeks ago.
Wins don’t come easy in professional soccer, so it’s always a big thing to come out on top. For Sporting to have done so with a solid 3-goal performance is even better. Hopefully this means that the offense has found its rhythm and will be able to match the efforts of the defense.
So how did the team look in their 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids?
