Kansas City Royals Series Grades

Game 2: Royals Win 7-3

The Kansas City Royals flipped the script in this game by putting together a strong late inning of their own. For the second game in a row, the Royals looked like a team that can compete with anyone in MLB.

A. A solid day on both the mound and at the plate. If the Royals can continue to play like this, they will be a very tough team to beat.. W. Kansas City Royals. GAME TWO

It was another strong performance for Danny Duffy, but this one resulted in a win. The bullpen followed up Friday’s solid showing with an even better, albeit shorter, performance. Most notably here, the Royals gave up only two walks. Peter Moylan seems to be emerging as a solid middle reliever for the team. It will be interesting to see if he gets an expanded role moving forward.

The Royals bats are the real story here. The KC hitters crushed three home runs in this game, including Salvador Perez’s third in three games. The surprising power that Kansas City has shown recently is a stark contrast to what the team has been in the past. Alex Gordon, Cheslor Cuthbert, and Eric Hosmer also had a good day at the plate.
