There are a lot of teams in the running for a quarterback in round one of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Chiefs are one of them and have the latest pick out of all of the potential teams.

The teams that I think will for sure go for a quarterback in this draft are the 49ers, the Cardinals, and the Texans. If those three all go quarterback and none of these other teams do, then the Chiefs could still have a shot at one of the four main prospects.

Those four main guys are Deshone Kizer, Patrick Mahomes, Mitchell Trubisky, and Deshaun Watson. Trubisky appears to be the best prospect out of the four with Watson closely behind and Kizer and Mahomes bringing up the rear.

Watson is the flashiest name, which is why I don’t see any chance of him falling to where the Chiefs are selecting. They’ll have a better shot at drafting guys like Kizer or Mahomes.

At the same time, all four of those prospects could be off the board within the top 20 picks. Anything is possible on draft day and I’ll be interested to see if all four of those guys go in round one of the draft or not.

What do you think, Chiefs fans? Could you see any other teams going for a first round quarterback?
