The 2017 NFL Draft is almost here and the most popular position in the draft is at quarterback. The quarterback is the sexiest position in the NFL and the draft is no different. What NFL teams are looking to add a new signal caller early on?

The Kansas City Chiefs will likely be looking to the 2017 NFL Draft for their next quarterback of the future. With them not drafting until the 27th overall pick, a lot of the top quarterback prospects could be gone by the time the Chiefs are on the clock.

There are a lot of NFL teams in the market for a new young quarterback to take their offense to the next level. I thought it might be fun to look at all of the teams who could possibly grab a signal caller in the first round of this year’s draft.

These are teams that could be taking away a potential guy from the KC Chiefs and could force them into having to trade up to get the guy they want.

We’ll do this by the order of which teams are drafting, so let’s start with the team in possession of the number one overall pick.

CLEVELAND BROWNS (FIRST OVERALL PICK, 12TH OVERALL PICK)

Whenever there’s talk of a first-round quarterback, the Cleveland Browns are always going to be apart of that discussion. They’ve had a whopping 26 starting quarterbacks since 1999, which is insane to think about.

Last season the Browns thought that Robert Griffin III was their next guy, but after injuries and several disappointing performances, they moved on this offseason. Cody Kessler could be who the Browns roll with in 2017, but don’t be surprised if Cleveland goes for a quarterback in the first round.

The Browns have two picks in round one. I’d imagine they’ll select Myles Garrett with the number one overall pick and then could use their 12th pick on a QB.

Cleveland has a lot of areas they need to upgrade and Cody Kessler actually played well last season. Maybe they’ll decide to hold off on a quarterback until the second or third round.
