The Kansas City Royals opened their 2017 MLB season on the road against the Minnesota Twins. We hand out grades for the series.

The 2017 season got underway this week as the Kansas City Royals went on the road to face the Minnesota Twins. This will be the first of many meetings between division rivals, but it represented an opportunity for the Royals to start the season the right way. The Twins are coming off of another disappointing year, and KC should be able to stay on top of them in the standings.

Of course, what is supposed to happen isn’t always what does happen. Royals fans screaming about getting no respect were given something to think about in this series. There isn’t much else that could have gone wrong in this three game set with the Twins. If there is any silver lining, it’s in the individual performances of Mike Moustakas and the starting pitching.

Being swept is never the way to start a season. Being swept by a team that isn’t supposed to be any good…that’s just depressing. It’s a long season, so there is time to right the ship…but there is also time to go even more off course. It will be tough to be optimistic about the Royals if they can’t put some convincing wins together quickly.

It can be tough to follow along with a full 162 game season of baseball. However, we know that Royals fans don’t want to miss out on anything from the boys in blue. So we’ll bring you all you need to know about how the team is looking as the season progresses. Be sure to check in regularly for our series grades!
