DANNY DUFFY

The last pitcher to appear on this list is the only decent pitcher during the Royals’ first series. Danny Duffy was incredible on Opening Day against the Twins, spinning six innings of one-run ball.

If the Royals want to be a playoff contender, then Danny Duffy is going to have to carry this rotation. Ian Kennedy and Jason Hammel both struggled in their first starts, so Duffy is the unquestioned ace of the staff.

If Danny Duffy can contain the Astros lineup, then that’d be huge for this team. Hopefully this time he gets help from his offense and from his bullpen.

Duffy is projected to start on Saturday so let’s cross our fingers that he can twirl another gem for the Royals. This team needs all of the help they can get at this point.

With Duffy getting the extension this offseason, it showed that he wants to be here. He loves being a member of the Kansas City Royals and he’s going to give back to this fan base for investing in him.
