KELVIN HERRERA

Kelvin Herrera is still with the Royals, right? Oh, he is? Just hasn’t pitched yet? Okay cool.

No, not cool actually.

Kelvin Herrera, who was bumped to the closer role this season, has yet to appear in a game for the KC Royals this season. The Royals haven’t been leading past the seventh inning, so there’s been no need to bring in the flame throwing closer.

Herrera is on this list because the intrigue is out there for Royals fans. Can Herrera do what very few members of the Royals bullpen have been able to do so far and hold down the lead? Can he limit his walks? Can he not replicate the rest of the garbage we’ve seen out of the pen so far?

All of those are big questions and if Herrera can handle it, then at least the Royals will have a legitimate closer in their bullpen. Getting the lead to him might be the biggest issue this team has though, and that’s not good.
