Kansas City Royals: Bold Predictions for 2017 Season
The Kansas City Royals are heading into an important season in 2017. Depending on how this season goes, the future for the Royals could be very different when it comes to the players on the roster. Let’s take a look at some bold predictions.
Opening Day is almost here for the KC Royals and fans are stoked! Last season wasn’t quite what Royals Nation was hoping for when it came to following up a World Series victory the year prior.
This year, however, the Royals are healthy again. Injuries absolutely crushed this team’s spirits last season and prevented them from making it to their third straight playoff appearance.
It hurt, but seeing the Royals finish strong at 81-81 despite all of the tough luck thrown at them shows how these guys are fighters. This is a team that knows how to win and doesn’t care being overlooked.

With Opening Day so close, I put together ten bold predictions for this 2017 Kansas City Royals season. These are called bold predictions because they’re not necessarily things that fans are thinking would or could happen to the team this season.
In other words, these are just fun little scenarios that seem crazy to think about and you shouldn’t take them too literally.
ROYALS BOLD PREDICTIONS – O’BRIEN REPLACES SOLER IN RIGHT FIELD
This one doesn’t seem nearly as bold as it did when I first started brainstorming these things, mainly because Jorge Soler has looked awful in Spring Training. He followed that up with an oblique injury and will likely spend time on the disabled list to start the season.
With Soler injured and not hitting all that well during Spring Training, perhaps the Royals feed the phenom and give Peter O’Brien a shot to prove himself in right field. O’Brien plays well and remains the Royals right fielder for the rest of the season.
While I covered the options the Royals have available for right field and Peter O’Brien wasn’t one of them, he hit well during Spring Training. He could be the future in a spot where the Royals have struggled to find a consistent guy.
