Daniel Sorensen – Safety (Re-Signed)

The Kansas City Chiefs locked up their deep secondary group from 2016 by placing the second round tender on Daniel Sorensen. That didn’t last long though as the Chiefs then quickly put together a four year deal for the backup safety.

With Sorensen locked up long-term, the Kansas City deep secondary is now in  a very stable position. This is a solid move for GM John Dorsey because it takes an entire position group off of his radar for the next couple of years. That will allow him to focus his efforts in other areas. Nothing to not like about that.

Updated Contract Not Yet Available

The Chiefs seem to be intent on creating stability wherever they can on the roster. That might not be exciting for fans wanting to see big splashes, but it is huge for a team with a good roster. Dan Sorensen could be starting for another team. Instead he well be providing solid depth for the Chiefs for the next few years.
