DEREK FINE (Fourth-Round Pick, 132nd Overall in 2008 NFL Draft)

A four-year starter at Kansas at the tight end spot, Derek Fine did well for himself in Lawrence. He totaled over 1,000 yards receiving with ten touchdowns and was a sure shot to be drafted in 2008.

Fine became a fourth-round draft choice by the Buffalo Bills and actually saw extended action during his rookie season as an NFL tight end.

Fine only spent two seasons as a pro, both with Buffalo, and made 11 starts (appeared in 18 total games). He only hauled in 19 receptions in the NFL for 158 yards and had one touchdown.

After two seasons with the Bills, Fine spent time on both the Rams and Texans’ practice squads in 2010, but that was it for the former Jayhawk tight end.

It was a little disappointing to see Derek Fine fizzle out so quickly, but he did get to play in the NFL more than most of the guys on this list.
