CUONZO MARTIN (California)

It’s tough to research the future of Mizzou basketball without stumbling across Cuonzo Martin’s name at some point. The main thing linking the Golden Bears head coach to Missouri is that he’s originally from St. Louis, according to Connor Riley of SEC Country.

Martin got his coaching start at Missouri State in Springfield before moving onto Tennessee and having success there. His 59-36 record with California shows that he can get a team going and the Golden Bears even reached March Madness last year.

FOX Sports states that there are rumblings of Martin not being content with his current job, which could mean he’s on the prowl for a new gig. Taking a job just hours from his home city seems to make all the sense in the world.

At this point, any hire is a good hire for the Tigers, but I think Cuonzo Martin makes the most sense for Mizzou.
