The “What Ifs” of 2016

What if Jeremy Maclin was a bigger threat?

As most Chiefs fans have probably noticed, most of these “what ifs” on last season deal with the offense and that should come as no surprise.

While Tyreek Hill was a great get and a invaluable boost to the offense, there is still one pickup not holding his own: Jeremy Maclin. Whether it is how Andy Reid calls plays or how Alex Smith perceives offensive situations, Jeremy Maclin is barely getting the ball.

Even when Maclin does receive a pass he looks ineffective when he catches it. So far it seems if Maclin is letting his talent fade under mediocrity and the inability to step up. If this does not change soon, Kansas City might have to consider cutting their losses in this one and moving on from the former Mizzou man.

Now, one might say Andy Reid does not cater to offense from Maclin or that Alex Smith is just not effective enough to get him the ball. Although there is some truth to that, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill seem to get the ball just fine.

It is time for Jeremy Maclin to join them.
