JAMES KILIAN – Seventh Round Pick (229th Overall) in 2005 NFL Draft

Who?

You can tell that James Kilian was a nobody in the NFL because he doesn’t even have a page on Pro Football Reference. Everyone in the NFL has a page on Pro Football Reference!

Kilian jumped around the NFL for three seasons, but only spent time on the practice squad for wherever he went.

Kilian was born in Caldwell, Kansas and played college football at Tulsa. Being a seventh round pick isn’t exactly a boost of confidence to lead a team down the stretch and that was proven with this pick.

Kilian jumped around the NFL for three seasons, but only spent time on the practice squad for wherever he went. He eventually landed with the Nashville Kats, an Arena Football League team and was out of football after the 2009 season.

Honestly… I had no idea who this guy was until I looked up the stats. Do any of you remember him or what the talk was when the Chiefs drafted him?

Fun fact though… This was the same draft that the Chiefs selected Derrick Johnson and Dustin Colquitt, both of whom are still with the organization. So, the 2005 NFL Draft wasn’t all that bad.
