The Journey to 13 Straight

Title Number Seven: 2010-2011 Season

This season would see the emergence of the Morris twins and the start of the career of freshman Josh Selby.

Surprisingly, the Morris twins would pretty much single-handedly carry the Jayhawks to a similar season to the previous one. Kansas would start out with a preseason ranking in seventh. The Jayhawks would play games against five AP Top 25 teams.

They would win a neutral court game against 13th ranked Memphis then they would go on to beat 19th ranked Missouri, 24th ranked Texas A&M, which were some of their most impressive wins.

Entering the Big 12 Tourney, Kansas would go on to beat Oklahoma State in the first round by one point, beat Colorado in the second round by seven points and win another Big 12 Tournament Championship by beating Texas by 12 points.

On Selection Sunday, Kansas would earn another one seed in the tournament. They would easily get past the first round, the second round, and the Sweet Sixteen. Though they seemingly had an easy route to the Championship, Kansas would fall in the Elite Eight to Shaka Smart led VCU by ten points.

It was yet another shocking loss for KU basketball and their fans.
