Keys To March Madness

Priority Five: Lagerald Vick

I know what you are thinking, why not Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk or Carlton Bragg Jr.? Well considering the former has been cold behind the three-point line and the latter has been inconsistent down low, it seems like KU Basketball is doing fine without them.

Though there is one player, Lagerald Vick, that has stepped up to the plate.

After 27 games, Lagerald Vick has averaged 7.3 points, pulled down 3.2 rebounds, and has a 45.6 field goal percentage.

What really sticks out, however, is what Vick did during the West Virginia game. When Kansas was struggling to create any points, Lagerald Vick took the reigns and reignited a seemingly confused and frustrated offense.

Here is another pleasing sign: Lagerald Vick is an excellent free throw shooter. With a free throw percentage of 84.8, he is a much needed free throw expert. His free throw shooting will be crucial during the postseason when KU needs clutch shooting to seal those close games.
