Keys To March Madness

Priority Four: Landen Lucas

Landen Lucas may not be the best big man ever to play at Kansas, but he embraces his role. In games when he contributes, he usually gets monster rebound numbers.

In 26 games, Landen Lucas is averaging 7.7 points, 8.4 total rebounds, and a 62.7 field goal percentage. Lucas is the blue collar, glue guy that supports all the other players around him, and that is okay. It is where he is needed the most.

If Lucas is not setting himself up for defense in the frontcourt or boxing others out to receive a lob pass over his head, he is rebounding. In turn, his rebounding creates extra possessions for this team.

This factor is even more important if the backcourt is struggling from the outside.

Lucas is the guy who helps out everyone else on his team, and that type of player is huge heading into the tournament.
