Chiefs Vs Patriots

In what could be the season opener for the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots are two of the best teams in the AFC. That’s what last season would indicate anyway, as they were the top two seeds in the division in the playoffs.

While the Patriots went on to win Super Bowl LI, the Chiefs were kicked out of the playoffs prematurely once again. They’ll be playing the Patriots at Gillette Stadium this season, which basically guarantees a loss.

I’m honestly hoping that this game isn’t in primetime because you don’t want that fan base to have anymore motivating factors to be loud. The Patriots have one of the best home field advantages and the Chiefs experienced it first hand in the 2015 playoffs, when New England booted them from the AFC Divisional Round.

There’s no doubt in my mind that this will get a Sunday Night Football slot, but is there any chance it can beat out a rematch of Super Bowl LI for the season opener? We’ll have to wait and see.
