RYAN FITZPATRICK

Another former Jet on this list is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick has become the poster boy for jumping from team to team, as he’s spent time with six different squads over his decade-long career.

Fitzpatrick used to torch the Chiefs back when he was the starter for the Buffalo Bills, but has declined steadily since that time. He had one nice season with the Jets in 2015 and they were wise not to overpay for his services for the following season.

Fitzpatrick isn’t a 16-game starter, but if he needed to come in for a few games, I think Kansas City would be in decent hands.

Chiefs fans saw just how bad Fitzpatrick was in 2016 when their defense picked him off six times in a week three game at Arrowhead.

I know people are probably thinking, “Why would we want someone who threw six interceptions against us last season?” Well… Fitzpatrick is a streaky quarterback. He has his great games and he has his piss-poor performances. He’s basically the definition of a backup quarterback.

Per Robinson of Pro Football Focus,

"His days of starting are likely over, but if Fitzpatrick can accept that and slide into a backup role, he would add a lot of value to a quarterback room. His value would come with helping out young quarterbacks and potentially entering games in relief duty if required, where he may be at his best."

This wouldn’t be a bad option for the Chiefs at all. Fitzpatrick isn’t a 16-game starter, but if he needed to come in for a few games, I think Kansas City would be in decent hands.
