ROOKIE QUARTERBACK

This is the option that I hope happens because it’d mean that the KC Chiefs FINALLY drafted a quarterback in the first round. Hey, it doesn’t even have to be in the first round, just one of the first THREE rounds is good with me!

This year’s crop of signal callers aren’t the best with North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky leading the way followed by Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, Notre Dame’s Deshone Kizer, and Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes.

With how valued the quarterback position is, it wouldn’t shock me in the slightest to see all four of these guys taken before the Chiefs even are on the clock. If they could land any of these guys though, it’d be a great scenario.

Let him sit and learn behind Smith for a year and then hand him the keys to the car for 2018 and beyond. I love thinking about this playing out, but have a feeling the Chiefs will probably not draft a quarterback early once again because the football gods hate Kansas City.
